Our students who enter Sydney Technical High School in Year 7 are selected on the basis of academic merit due to their performance in the Department of Education High Performing Students Team tests in reading, Mathematics, general intellectual ability and writing, combined with their performance at primary school in English and Mathematics.
As a selective high school, Sydney Technical High School has a special responsibility to utilise effective and equitable identification procedures which distinguish between levels of giftedness ranging from mild to profoundly gifted, and to provide developmentally appropriate programs tailored to each student’s degree of giftedness to maximise each student’s learning outcomes.
